SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Sales Operation Manager is the link between the Company and the Client.

This includes anticipating and understanding the Client's needs and technical architecture as well as offering solutions, sales and negotiations, Client satisfaction as well as all administration with regards to managing the Client effectively, efficiently and professionally.

The Sales Operation Manager is also responsible for managing the projects, operational staff and overseeing their daily tasks.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

  • Developing and maintaining the Branch operation that increases sales, profitability, market share and customer and employee satisfaction
  • Direct all operational aspects of the Branch to include procurement and warehouse operations, customer service, human resources, administration and sales in a manner that supports reaching the profitability goals
  • Participate actively in community, business and industry organisations to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the Branch and Company in the local area
  • Manage day to day activities and scheduling teams for optimal performance
  • Project planning and execution
  • Ensure service delivery is at its best at all times
  • Ensure the safekeeping Company assets, including structures, equipment, inventory and cash
  • Solicit feedback from subordinates, peers, and other team members with the goal of personal or operational improvement
  • Manage the Branch honestly, follow high ethical standards, and comply with all government and Company regulations
  • Achieving profitability goals and objectives of the Branch
  • Working on site on a regular basis
  • Develop solution designs
  • Enforcing and maintaining personnel policy
  • Communicate with other Branches and Senior Managers by sharing information and business opportunities
  • Increasing personal knowledge and expertise in business and appropriate technology
  • Follow Company policies and procedures
  • Maintain proficiency in computerised systems and other technologies as required

Managing Operational Staff

  • Scheduling jobs and daily tasks for operational teams
  • Assist team and project leaders with job related issues
  • Discuss team skills and performance with the Regional Executive
  • Check the quality of work on site and monitoring work flow to ensure timely completion of jobs
  • Discipline staff when required
  • Review the performance in terms of quality, workmanship and behaviour of the employees reporting to him/her
  • Authorisation of overtime in accordance with the Company policy and project plan
  • Oversee the monthly tool checks of all teams
  • Responsible for company vehicles and adhering to the company Fleet Policy

Managing Projects

  • Manage projects by doing regular site inspections to determine quality assurance
  • Meetings with the Project/Team Leaders and updating project plans on a daily basis
  • Establishing a project plan as well as maintain and control all relevant documents
  • Schedule and manage all resources required for a job
  • Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency in material usage and man hour utilisation
  • Attend Project meeting
  • Direct the planning and development of telecommunication systems and network design
  • Provide expertise in developing most effective strategy to resolve issues
  • Responsible for job sign offs

Branch Financials

  • Analyse and evaluation of activities, costs, operations, budgets and forecast data to determine Branch progress towards stated goals and objectives
  • Develop sales and expense budget for the Branch operations (Budget planning)
  • Cooperate fully with Credit department in extending and enforcing credit policy

Client Management

  • Ongoing Account and Project Management
  • Client Analysis knowledge of the Client's business to anticipate their needs in order to provide sound technical solutions
  • Secure, develop and maintain Client relationships and become a strategic partner with the assigned accounts by consulting with a high degree of industry expertise and knowledge
  • Maintain and develop existing and new Customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods to sustain the current and ongoing business
  • Ensure Customer satisfaction through the highest level of service by constant visibility and professionalism
  • Continuously introduce or inform the Client of new product and or service offerings

Sales

  • Attend Client and Supplier meetings
  • Negotiate with and sell to Senior-Level Executives and Management
  • Effectively solve problems and manage risk to ensure achievement of targets
  • Ensures that the service offering provided satisfies the Clients' needs
  • Identify potential sales opportunities
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Plan and prioritise sales activities in order to achieve the business aims
