We're a small dynamic team that makes sure AnyVan is a great place to work through placing our people at the heart of everything we do.

We work collaboratively to oversee all recruitment and HR related activities across multiple locations (UK, Europe, South Africa).


Highly visible within the business (and we like to think well loved) - we pride ourselves on the relationships we've built and our position as trusted partners for managers and colleagues alike.

It's key that we understand the strategic direction of the company and create priorities to support that. As we scale we know some changes will happen naturally but keeping what has made us so great to date (our culture and our people) is top of the agenda


As the People Partner in our Cape Town office, you'll lead from the front, providing day to day people/HR support to our Customer Service, Sales and local functions.

A large part of the role will focus on delivering an outstanding employee and stakeholder experience, balancing the needs of the business whilst being fair to our employees to drive employee engagement and retention.


What you'll be doing:

  • Manage industrial relations issues including absence management, flexible working requests, performance management, disciplinaries and grievances etc
  • Oversee HR compliance for SA: triple BEE compliance, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Compensation Analysis
  • Daily support for the local central support team, taking care of the entire employee lifecycle; benefits, pensions, process administration
  • Develop a commercial understanding of key business metrics, prepare relevant and high quality reports and highlight trends and provide insightful commentary
  • Help the business successfully manage change by keeping employees well informed of the 'why' we make the decisions we do

Experience we think you'll need to be successful in the role;:

  • Experience in a HR Role in a fast growing business
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Law in South Africa and ideally the UK and Europe and expertise in driving employee engagement, great culture and managing a wide range of ER issues
  • Good understanding of HR platforms and tools and how to work with them to get the best out of them (Automation, Reporting, business engagement, etc)
  • Proven track record delivering quantifiable results in line with business objectives

We support flexible and hybrid working wherever possible but some roles remain fully office based.

Please note - Operational roles in our Contact Centre in Cape Town are fully office based. Where we can support it, typical working patterns would be 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. However, we appreciate everyone's situation is unique and are open to conversations around the working patterns.
