About the role


Responsible for all end to end (Commercial and Manufacturing Financials) financial matters relating to the Consumer Healthcare South Africa business.

Serves as Finance Business Partner for the South Africa leadership team while providing overall leadership and direction to the Finance function.

Also a member of the Statutory Haleon South Africa Board of Directors.

Scope:

  • Serve as Finance Business Partner for the South Africa business.
  • Provide sound financial advice and counsel to the South Africa and South Africa leadership teams.
  • Responsible for supporting the leadership teams on all elements of strategy development and execution, resource allocation, portfolio management & opportunity identification and maximisation.
  • Provide functional leadership and direction to the South Africa Finance organization. Responsible for talent management and development across the business
  • Identify and manage all financial and business risks across the South Africa business towards attainment of business and financial objectives; effectively communicate significant issues and risks as and when necessary
  • Board and takes responsibility for overall talent review of Finance staff.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with Global Tax and Treasury within HALEON
  • Act as a Trusted advisor and right hand person to the General Manager
  • Accountable for Site and SC financials. Plays a key role in integrating Commercial and Supply Chain teams to transform to E2E review and decision making within LOC's
  • Accountable for identifying and sponsoring productivity initiatives at site and within the Commercial Supply Chain
  • Key Finance liaison on Capex projections and major projects within the E2E Supply Chain
  • 2 Direct and 8 Indirect Reports
Key responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for the delivery of all financial performance metrics in line with agreed targets.
  • Lead all financial planning processes for South Africa, ensuring development of robust business plans and forecasts
  • Lead all financial reporting processes for South Africa, providing accurate and timely financial and other information to the South Africa Leadership Teams, Africa and Corporate, as required;
  • Ensure all local statutory reporting requirements are met
  • Ensure all HALEON Finance policies are implemented across the South Africa business; ensure appropriate accounting systems, processes and internal control systems are in place and in use in all South Africa markets and above country operations
  • Drive a Working Capital reduction program across the South Africa business, implementing best practice and ensuring delivery of Working Capital targets across LOC, site and CMO
  • Sponsor and support all Corporate/Sector initiatives as they pertain to the South Africa business; e.g. working capital, E2E supply chain, Procurement etc
  • Support the DRM/S&OP process and ensure a good E2E bridge is maintained for decision making between site and commercial.
  • Engage as active member of the MEA Finance community
  • Responsible for credit control and collections minimising risk across the region and ensuring on time collection of trade receivables balances.
  • Manage trade payables balances from a working capital perspective
  • Support inventory reduction programs including Finished Goods, Raw Materials and Packaging.
  • Review advertising and promotion strategies and ensure optimised spend efficiency and use of best practices.
  • Support the PMR meeting and planned NPD initiatives.
  • Trade Promotion, review and control spend and communicate the impact / return of activities to senior management.
  • Serve as an active member of the Statutory HALEON Board of Directors from a legal entity perspective and lead the Board on finance and new regulations.
  • Lead the Finance meetings and ensure collaboration across the finance organisation within HALEON South Africa.
  • Lead talent management across the finance organisation in HALEON SA and report annually on talent to MEA.
