  • We have an exciting position for a Protection Services HRD Coordinator to provide and coordinate support to the Head of Protection Services on all HRD related matters. Compile and align Protection Services Policies and procedures to ensure HRD best practice and legal compliance. Coordinate and ensure alignment with the SASSETA and compliance with the PSIRA, SAPFTC, Central Firearm Register and SAPS in terms of Quality Assurance.

**Job Description

  • Your responsibilities will include**:
  • Identify people skills development needs for AAP Protection Services
  • Identify suitable development to address the identified development needs programs for all protection services members
  • The design of suitable development programs where no suitable programs exist.
  • Liaise with National industry forums on the implementation of identified training programs
  • Liaise with all internal role players regarding the implementation of identified training programs.
  • Implement suitable development programs to address identified development needs.
  • Compile HRD metrics reports for Protection Services.
  • Provide input to the protection services HRD Planning and communication cycle in line with Protection Services cycle.
  • Conduct audits of the Protection Services learning delivery system.
  • Execute quality assurance, governance in terms of policies and procedures.
  • Develop best practice principles for the department.
  • Improve Safety culture of all Protection Services employees.
  • Participate in the National industry forums (SASSETA, PSIRA, PFTC)
  • Provide access to the quality of Human rights and customer relations training
  • Provide access to the quality of firearm and tactical training for all reaction team and vehicle crew members.
  • Compile and align all Protection Service Policies and Procedures

This role is in the Protection Services Department at a band 6 level reporting to the Senior Protection Services Manager.

  • Qualifications


Grade 1
  • Diploma in Security Management or equivalent or HRD NQF level 6 qualification.
  • Further Education and

Training Certificate:
Firearm Training SAQA ID will be advantageous)

  • ETDP accredited assessor
  • ETDP accredited Moderator
  • SAPFTC accredited firearm instructor holding an advanced level grading.
  • PSIRA DH5 Service Dog Handler or unit standard equivalent qualifications.
  • PSIRA Grade A
  • Range Officer Certificate
  • Valid driver's license code 08/10/1
  • Valid public drivers permit code 10 and 14

Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in Protection service / policing industry with 2 years HRD experience.
  • Protection service management experience Advantageous
  • Advanced level Tactical Firearm instructor
  • Implementation of HRD Protection Services training
  • Knowledge of HRD Policies, Practices, Procedures & Systems.
  • Assessment and Moderation
  • Managerial Knowledge and skills
  • Computer literate (MS Office and SAP)
  • If successful, you will be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Test and Psychometric Assessment
