Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for an HSE Coordinator to join the team based in Rustenburg, South Africa.

You will be responsible for updating PPE registers, medical surveillance reports, and any other reports that may be requested by the Safety Officer and/or Branch Managers.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities

  • Promoting HSE awareness and training throughout the location
  • Promoting the development of basic HSE skills to all levels of employees through promotional HSE material and awareness programs
  • Assisting in conducting Risk Assessments
  • Coordinating all HSErelated projects and KPI Performance Index
  • Conducting inspections/site visits and provide guidance and assistance on areas of improvement.
  • Participating in HSE inspection programmes using principles of planned task observation and proactively prevent nonconformances.
  • Work as a team towards team goals with all Production and Technical Teams, understanding priorities and pressures.
  • Carrying out other ad hoc duties of an appropriate nature as may be requested by the Laboratory or Operations Management from time to time.

Required Competencies

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Good timekeeping and time management skills.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Quality: 'Right first time' approach, completes work to a high standard, continually looking for improvements, and strong problemsolvers, high level of attention to detail is key within this role.
  • Managing uncertainty: Handles pressure and ambiguity well, exercises good judgment, and handles challenges in a mature manner.

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a production/ Mine Lab environment with a proven track record of HSE requirements and implementation

Required Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (with Maths, English and Science)
  • Appropriate Tertiary Qualification in HSE

Required Languages

  • Highly proficient in English (Verbal and written)
