Supervisor - Stretch Tent Manufacturing

We are looking to employ Supervisor to become part of our manufacturing team in Maitland.


The Supervisor is responsible for planning and managing the day-to-day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in their assigned Bay in order to achieve performance targets as agreed with Production Management.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in the area.
  • Adherence to all SOP's, daily checklists and reporting requirements.
  • Manage team productivity in accordance to the production schedule to ensure that the right work is done at the right time.
  • Communication of status updates and timelines Production Manager.
  • Regular inspection of each station to check for any issues and to ensure that production is running smoothly.
  • Ensure that regular maintenance is done on machinery when needed.
  • Training and mentoring of team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 35 years' experience as a Supervisor within a garment production, CMT or sample room environment
  • Knowledge of and experience of 9001:2015 will be a definite advantage.
  • The ability to read the line and to plan and organize for production effectively.
  • Control of quality and output standards throughout the unit.
  • Patternmaking expertise will be an advantage.
  • Experience in managing absenteeism and addressing underperformance/misconduct matters within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Afrikaans (written and verbal).
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to work Monday to Friday (07h25 to 16h30 Mon to Thurs / Friday 07h25 to 15h00)

  • High School (matric) (required)
