Energy Capital & Power (ECP) is Africa's leading investment and policy platform for the energy sector.

Through a series of in-person events, online news and social media channels, and digital and print investment reports, we unite the entire energy value chain to facilitate global and intra African investment and collaboration.

We are seeking a Field Editor to work in Gabon, writing and producing content for the ECP website. Based or living in-country is a must.

The Field Editor will work under and report to our Managing Editor, as well as work with and liaise accordingly with sales, programming and design teams.


Primary professional duties include:

  • Developing and editing content for the ECP website, including press/news releases, story pitches, articles, thought leadership columns and video scripts.
  • Researching, writing and editing content for the owned media channels of ECP clients, including print, Web and social media.
  • Executing client communications and PR campaigns and projects as needed.
  • Conduct interviews with government officials and highlevel executives.
  • Regular reporting to ECP management.
  • Engaging with local media houses and keeping uptodate with all energy related news incountry.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, International Relations or related field.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills and sharp attention to detail. Your writing must be factchecked and free of grammatical errors.
  • Analytical thinker and quick learner who is able to read, research, understand and write about complex, verticallyintegrated industries.
  • Familiarity with the energy sector is a plus but is not required.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to interview and interface with Csuite executives and highlevel government officials.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and international setting. Prior experience working and/or interning abroad is strongly preferred.
  • Independent selfstarter who is able to meet deadlines and manage longterm projects without direct supervision.
  • Strong organization skills are a must.
  • High degree of flexibility in working on different assignments with team members across multiple time zones.
  • Must be available to travel for projects as needed.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a must. Fluency in another language (Spanish, Portuguese or any other) is an advantage.
