Film & Event Media, a vibrant media hub specializing in media, marketing, and communication solutions for the film, business events, food service, hospitality, and tourism sectors, is in search of a talented and passionate content and editorial Editor to join our dynamic team.

As an Editor, you'll play a pivotal role in crafting and delivering high-quality content across diverse platforms, including digital publications, websites, social media, and promotional materials.

You'll also have the responsibility of managing the editorial team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the editorial team and all mediarelated aspects, including marketing campaigns.
  • Edit and meticulously proofread a wide array of content, spanning articles, features, interviews, press releases, and marketing materials. Your focus will be on ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to our editorial standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on topics pertinent to the food service, film, tourism, and event industries to generate captivating and informative content.
  • Write and edit articles, features, and interviews for digital platforms like websites, digital magazines, and special projects.
  • Create compelling multimedia content like videos, images, and social media posts, elevating storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Possess a solid understanding of our target audience and be prepared to engage with industry professionals as necessary.
  • Attend industry events, film premieres, conferences, and festivals to conduct interviews and collect firsthand information.
  • Collaborate closely with writers, photographers, and designers to produce compelling written and visual content that resonates with and captivates our target audience.
  • Effectively manage the editorial calendar, covering planning, scheduling, and content organization to meet deadlines and align with clientrelated marketing and editorial needs.
  • Work in conjunction with the marketing team to optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO) and to promote it across various platforms.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance editorial processes to improve efficiency and quality, including the implementation of editorial guidelines and style standards.
  • Assist in devising and executing creative ideas, strategies, and initiatives to elevate the company's brand and reputation within the industry.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to brainstorm and contribute to the overarching content strategy, guaranteeing alignment with all publications, company objectives, and goals.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of at least 3 years as an Editor or in a similar role, ideally within the media, publishing, or entertainment field.
  • Exceptional command of written and spoken English, showcasing impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
  • An acute attention to detail and a sharp eye for precision and consistency.
  • Proficiency in using editing software and content management systems (CMS).
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and online content's best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, enabling you to juggle multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines.
  • A genuine passion for the film, food, hospitality, tourism, and event industries, alongside a comprehensive grasp of industry trends and terminology.
  • Robust interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with a diverse team of writers, designers, and marketers.
  • A degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of multimedia editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop) is advantageous.

This is a 12 month renewable contract with a 3 month probation period.
