Job Description:

Join the team behind the prestigious African Energy Week (AEW) - the continent's largest energy event AEW, organized by ECP in partnership with the African Energy Chamber (AEC), is set to host a dynamic program of discussions, networking sessions, and meetings for energy stakeholders from the region and beyond.

Position: AEW Strategic Writer

Are you a talented wordsmith? ECP is seeking a dedicated AEW Strategic Writer to create compelling content for the 2023 edition of the event. As the AEW Writer, you will collaborate with the Deputy Editor and Managing Editor to develop engaging content leading up to and during the event.

Primary Professional Duties:

  • Produce daily content for AEW 2023, including interviews, articles, and news releases.
  • Craft content for event media channels, ensuring accuracy and relevancy.
  • Cover live event content such as panel discussions and interviews.
  • Provide post-event coverage including articles, press releases, and reports.
  • Regularly update the Managing Editor on content status.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or Journalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in content creation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong presentation and interviewing skills.
  • Event management experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to Cape Town for the event.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual skills are a bonus.
