Film & Event Media, a dynamic and rapidly growing media company specializing in the film, business events, food service, hospitality, and tourism industries, is seeking a talented and passionate content and editorial Editor to join our team.

As an Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering high-quality content across our various platforms, including digital publications, websites, social media, and promotional materials.


Responsibilities:

  • Edit and proofread a wide range of content, including articles, features, interviews, press releases, and marketing materials, to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the company's editorial standards.
  • Conduct thorough research on the food service, film, tourism and event industryrelated topics to develop engaging and informative content.
  • Write and edit articles, features, and interviews across all digital platforms website, digital magazine and special projects.
  • Create compelling multimedia content, including videos, images, social media posts and content and to enhance storytelling and engage the audience.
  • Understand our target audience and be willing to engage with necessary industry professionals.
  • Attend industry events, film premieres, conferences, and festivals to conduct interviews and gather firsthand information.
  • Collaborate with writers, photographers, and designers to create compelling visual and written content that captivates and engages our target audiences.
  • Manage the editorial calendar, including planning, scheduling, and organising content to meet deadlines and align with clientrelated marketing and editorial content.
  • Conduct thorough research on industryrelated topics to provide accurate and uptodate information for articles and publications.
  • Stay uptodate with industry trends, news, and developments to identify relevant topics and opportunities for content creation.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO) and promote content across various platforms.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve editorial processes to enhance efficiency and quality, including implementing editorial guidelines and style standards.
  • Assist in the development and execution of creative ideas, strategies, and initiatives to enhance the company's brand and reputation in the industry.
  • Work closely with the team to brainstorm and contribute to the overall content strategy, ensuring alignment with all publications, company goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Editor or similar role, preferably in the media, publishing, or entertainment industry.
  • Exceptional command of written and spoken English, with excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy and consistency.
  • Proficiency in using editing software and content management systems (CMS).
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices for online content.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • A passion for the film, food, hospitality, tourism and event industries, with a solid understanding of industry trends and terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of writers, designers, and marketers.
  • Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of multimedia editing tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop), is a plus.
