This role reports to Purchasing Director who is responsible for Indirect Purchases for South Africa.

Responsibilities of the role

• Participate as a critical member of a cross-functional team in one of our Organizational Units (like Business or Market) to deliver a new service or technology to market.

• Partnering with multi-functional organizations to improve our efficiency and effectiveness at reaching P&G consumers with super communication.

• Encourage innovation from our external business partners by forming a relationship with P&G and describing what P&G is looking for.

• Working with internal customers and with the management of supplier companies to resolve financial or supply or quality issues that affect our business plans.

• Owns definition and execution of sourcing tactics, including collaborator alignment and external communication

• Leads projects on defined intervention areas (savings, technical, cost structure, relationship, stewardship)

• Analyzing market trends and supplier landscape

• Providing insights and recommendations to senior management and suppliers

• Spotting and exploiting emerging trends and technologies

• Uncovering business-building ideas and cost-saving opportunities

• Designing sourcing strategies that improves the value, availability and technology of the service

• Striking deals through negotiation or leading driven bidding

• Building effective working relationships with suppliers

• Creating and capitalizing on innovative approaches such as e-marketplaces

Job Qualifications

Qualifications
o Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years Media experience preferably in FMCG environment
o Leader who are passionate to make things happen, collaborating well with diverse groups of people
o Have an external focus and a real passion for Purchasing / Marketing & Finance
o Analytical Skills - Demonstrate ability to visualize, articulate concepts and solve problems, and make or influence decisions that make sense based on available information. Apply logical thinking to collecting and analyzing information, crafting and testing solutions to problems, and formulating plans.
o Ownership and Leadership - Ability to recognize strategic opportunities and be able to enroll others in progressive thinking to get results. Ability to influence across functional boundaries (Brand Managers, Finance, Legal, Operations, Purchases) to develop and deliver strategy and relationship management action plans to achieve outstanding results.
o Ability to Build and Sustain Relationships - Demonstrate ability to lead high-level interactions with internal business partners, suppliers and agencies, working effectively across functions, geographies and cultures. Must be able to establish links and influence others via excellent social skills, despite many remote relationships. You will invest significant time/effort to handle supplier relationship(s), development of supplier relationship management strategies and execution of joint business plans.
