Compliance Specialist

Our client, a leading multi-national property concern seeks to appoint a Compliance Specialist whose focus will be on ensuring consistent _
formulation and implementation _of an Ethics and Compliance program.

The successful incumbent will also focus on providing support and advise on regulatory and legal requirements to ensure compliant decisions, reinforcing trust from clients, business partners and vendors.

Compliance experience over a range of Africa countries will be advantageous.


The successful incumbent will have a relevant qualification and a minimum of 5 years experience working in a similar role within a _
multi-national company_.

Requirements_

  • LLB or Risk Management degree with at least three years post qualification experience in a company position.
  • Postgraduate compliance qualification is an added advantage.
  • Proven track record in managing compliance programs for similarly sized multinational organisations
  • Previous experience in corporate real estate operations will be an advantage
  • Experience of leading compliance programs.
  • Compliance experience over a range of Africa countries (not just South Africa domestic).
  • Have initiated compliance engagements and projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Board/Senior Leadership level reporting.

Key Performance Areas:_

  • Drafting and/or updating appropriate policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes, and relevant global policies. Ensuring applicable policies, account policy & procedure manuals are reviewed and maintained.
  • Provision of strategic and tactical compliance advice to the Company and the Client.
  • Serving as the single point of contact for Client related queries related to ethics, compliance and process issues.
  • Conducting annual Risk Assessments, audits and reviews as appropriate to ensure compliance with the account contractual obligations and internal policy and procedures.
  • Supporting Client / Supplier compliance and risk activity including training and process improvements.
  • Delivering communication updates of policy changes and results of reviews to all applicable staff.
  • Preparing and delivering compliance training and education to ensure understanding of employee responsibilities and ethics and compliance issues, as well as related policies and procedures.
  • Training and informing the business on specific local risks as identified through the Risk Assessment.
  • Overseeing investigations, including interviewing internal and external customers across the accelerate business and reaching balanced conclusions through empirical data gathering.
  • Overseeing and actively supporting the Anti-Corruption Monitoring Program.
  • Empowering business leaders and management teams across the territories to promote our values and foster a Speak-Up culture.
