The successful Sales and Marketing Manager will help the company expand its Brand presence, retain customer base, and ultimately boost revenue.

The specific responsibilities and required skills preferably someone with previous experience in a manufacturing environment and FMCG. Must understand and have experience in 3rd world marketing and have a keen eye for New Product Development.


A Sales and Marketing Manager with NPD skills is well-positioned to drive revenue growth, create impactful marketing campaigns, and introduce innovative products that meet customer demands.

This role requires a combination of business acumen, leadership, and a deep understanding of both sales/marketing and product development processes.


Role and Responsibilities
1.

Developing Sales and Marketing Strategies:
Creating comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives.

2.

Market Research:
Conducting market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and industry trends to inform decision-making.

3.

Lead Generation:
Overseeing lead generation efforts to identify and attract potential customers to the company's products or services.

4.

Team Management:
Supervising and guiding sales and marketing teams, setting performance goals, and providing training and support.

5.

Campaign Planning and Execution:
Planning and executing marketing campaigns across various channels, such as digital marketing, social media, advertising, and events.

6.

Budget Management:
Managing budgets for marketing and sales initiatives and optimizing resources to achieve the best possible outcomes.

7.

Sales Forecasting:
Analysing data and market trends to make accurate sales forecasts and adjusting strategies accordingly.

8.

Customer Relationship Management:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and addressing any concerns.

9.

Collaboration:
Working closely with other departments, such as product development, to ensure alignment between sales and marketing efforts.

10.

Performance Analysis:
Monitoring the performance of sales and marketing campaigns, analysing results, and making data-driven adjustments.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Management:

  • Developing sales strategies and plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Leading a sales team, setting sales goals, and monitoring their performance.
  • Identifying new sales opportunities and market segments.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Analysing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Marketing Management:

  • Creating and executing marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness.
  • Conducting market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and behaviour.
  • Developing and implementing marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Overseeing digital marketing efforts, including social media, content creation, and advertising.
  • Monitoring and analysing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

New Product Development (NPD):

  • Identifying market gaps and opportunities for new product development.
  • Leading crossfunctional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop new products.
  • Conducting market research to validate product ideas and features.
  • Developing product launch strategies and marketing plans.
  • Managing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Journalism, Communications, Information Systems, Business, Statistics or a related major.
  • Experience in Marketing and Sales in the Manufacturing industry (water tanks) will be a distinct advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead a team to meet sales quotas.
  • The ability to travel internationally with a valid South African passport.
