Vivo Energy South Africa are looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive the delivery of the payments and loyalty solution across the group.

The role is broad and requires a person with strong payments, loyalty and digital experience, obtained in a commercial/banking environment.

The role assumes accountability for the delivery of the project, within an aggressive timeframe to the in-scope countries and requires both project and team leadership skills.


The primary deliverable will be improvements/development and deployment of a complete loyalty and payment solutions eco system for the VE group.

A number of loyalty and payment solutions initiatives are in various stages of research or maturity.

All of these items have historically been run in silos and are being brought under one programme to drive synergies and mutual success.

The Project Manager will travel from time to time in line with project delivery requirements.

It should be noted that there may be long hours required when managing multiple concurrent implementations across the project and its phases.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in delivering complex projects across multiple geographies and cultures. Ideally, the Project manager will be skilled in the delivery of complex technology solutions across loyalty and payment systems, ensuring all the stage gates of projects are met and delivered to a high quality.
  • Understand the customer needs for integrated payment and loyalty.
  • Understanding of payment and loyalty systems, preferably in the retail petroleum industry or in a bank.
  • Experience in working with organizations across multiple geographies, languages and understanding the intricacies of project delivery across multiple cultures
  • Working with the Programme Lead to establish an effective relationship supporting effective delivery, performance measurement and management of change. This should encompass where appropriate communications with external suppliers (vendors and partners of VE).
  • Developing and managing the project team (including external suppliers), monitoring adequate resources available to deliver a flexible, competent, skilled and effective workforce at all times.
  • Achieving the project outturn and margins as agreed with the Programme Lead
  • Identifying and implementing quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Leading and inspiring the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.
  • Managing and complying with company procedures to provide appropriate resources (HR), communication strategies (Marketing and Compliance teams), training (Service Excellence and HR teams), and competency and evaluate the fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities.
  • Reporting on the progress and/or impact of the project.
  • Liaising with the teams to deliver clear and consistent reporting on project status to the Programme Lead.
  • Managing risk management and project governance with the VE Risk and Compliance officers.
  • Developing systems/methodology and maintaining records that provide for the proper evaluation, control and documentation of assigned activities; preparing a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and other materials as required.
  • Ensuring the creation of relevant operating plans detailing byproduct the activities/projects and launches, in collaboration with the relevant heads of department (loyalty, marketing, IT, etc)

Relevant Experience:

  • Project Management experience in large commercial organizations
  • Payment System integration (into ERP Systems advantageous)
  • SAP ERP Integration knowledge advantageous
  • Loyalty system solution knowledge and understanding
  • Digital payment solutions knowledge and understanding
  • Vendor Management experience

This role is based in South Africa and the incumbent must be comfortable working within a hybrid structure in either our Cape Town or Johannesburg offices.
