The Senior Operations Manager of the English Department (English Team) will be leading a team of 150+ people. We are looking for somebody with exceptional organisational skills, and team leadership abilities.

You will be expected to be process driven, and develop and implement department strategies in line with business and client objectives.

A high level of verbal and written communication skills in English are needed. The team has been growing rapidly, so substantial experience with management and management processes is key.

We are looking for somebody with a great attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to build consensus and relationships among all stakeholders.

The Senior Operations manager will ensure the production managers, supervisors, coordinators, and editors are meeting the goals that form part of the continuous improvement programs by driving cross-training and performance improvement.


  • Editors are responsible for getting every word right, their attention and focus is measured by the second
  • Coordinators are focused on the momentary tracking and delivery of projects on a per minute or hourly basis
  • Supervisors are focused on the delivery of projects and their team members on a daily and weekly basis
  • Production Managers are focused on the tracking of projects and team members on a weekly and monthly basis, driving mediumtolongterm initiatives to meet departmental and company goals

- _The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for identifying key initiatives needed to drive long-term quality, performance and budget initiatives through business analysis and the implementation of operational initiatives._

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure the seamless handoff between global offices to meet production deadlines
  • Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees
  • Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
  • Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customerservice standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends
  • Forecast requirements; schedule expenditures; analyse variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Develop operations systems by determining output and capacity requirements,
  • Implement, enforce and evaluate policies and procedures;
  • Analyse process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Update job knowledge by reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Manage relationship with key client according to business and client interests
  • Communicate customer issues with team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
  • Work closely with management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and systems and to follow through with implementation.
  • Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
  • Maintain a competitive company position by developing a localisation strategy and plan
  • Deliver client projects to agreed deadlines and quality specifications
  • Manage creation of English templates and final delivery of files
  • Maintain employee motivation and performance and provide inspired leadership for the team
  • Work with senior stakeholders
  • Build alliances and partnerships

Requirements:

  • Degree in either English or Film, Postgraduate beneficial. 5 years' experience in project management, 5 years managing large team, 3 years as highlevel manager/producer/director in a production, postproduction environment or 3 years as an operational manager in media or related industry.
OR

  • Degree in Business Management/Administration. 5 years' experience in project management, 5 years managing large team, 3 years as highlevel manager in a postproduction environment or 3 years as an operational manager in media or related industry. High level of English language skill required.
