About Our Company: Our client, a well-known logistics business located in Cape Town, Northern Suburbs, specializes in providing top-notch transportation and distribution services to ensure client satisfaction and trust in their offerings.

Job Opportunity: We are currently in search of a proactive and meticulous Expeditor (Junior Controller) to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will oversee the movement of goods to guarantee prompt delivery. While having a certificate or diploma could be beneficial, we also encourage candidates with relevant experience and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with suppliers and carriers to arrange and expedite the transportation of goods.
  • Monitor and trace shipment statuses to secure timely deliveries.
  • Liaise with suppliers and carriers to resolve transportation delays or issues.
  • Support logistics controllers and coordinators in operational management.
  • Aid in preparing shipping documents and managing customs clearance processes.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain precise records of shipments and logistic undertakings.
  • Coordinate with other departments like procurement and warehouse to streamline goods flow.
  • Assist in addressing logistical challenges and handling customer inquiries.
  • Execute miscellaneous tasks and projects as delegated by the operations manager.

Requirements:

  • Background in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferable Certificate/Diploma).
  • Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or similar responsibilities is valued.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal proficiencies.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail and precision in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Effective team player with knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain processes.
