Regional Maintenance Specialist

Role Purpose:
Take end-to-end responsibility for the Vodacom TowerCo site operational infrastructure performance, by developing a deep understanding of the various related site-specific and regional operational and maintenance requirements, including the infrastructure engineering, power and energy management, site security, information and technology and quality and health and safety requirements impacting the business to ensure that service level agreements are achieved and that the operational teams deliver on the client specific service delivery requirements.
Co-develop a cost-effective Operations and Maintenance (O&M) strategy for the Vodacom TowerCo multitenant site sharing requirements, allowing for the solution to be integrated with independent preventative and corrective maintenance service providers, while ensuring that all service levels are achieved.
This includes technical solution design, solution optimization and maintenance planning, ensuring power reliability (site uptime), with a full cost of ownership (profit and loss) responsibility for regional operations and maintenance requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Operations
Responsible for the development of site-specific operational strategies that will support the various technologies deployed on site and ensure that timeous corrective actions are taken to ensure that service level agreements are achieved for various client.
Develop an end-to-end asset management solution, and own the site asset register, this includes, warehousing, logistics, warrantee management, asset optimization and disposal with spares availability management to improve site profitability and reducing related operational financial risks.
Own the operational site transition requirement planning and ensure that the transformational objectives are implemented within the agreed scope, quality and time requirements to deliver on our strategic business objectives.
Maintenance
Develop planned maintenance strategies to ensure that equipment manufacturing requirements and engineering specifications are maintained and developed to ensure that site asset life is extended, ensuring the optimal use of assets deployed and that best value is received for money invested.
This includes all site maintenance requirements, with reference to site infrastructure, tower maintenance, power and energy management and security maintenance.

Develop governance structures to monitor, evaluate and manage supplier, contractors, and 3rd party's performance (SLA/KPI) against their contracted scope of work and benchmark best practice.
Financial Management & Reporting
Formulate and manage the power related operational elements CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
Including developing dashboards to enable management visibility.
Compliance Management
Responsible for the TowerCo preparation for ISO compliance and certification.
Grade 12 is essential.
A 3-year qualification in business management, or technical engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years working experience within the telecommunication infrastructure sector and a working knowledge of site design and related infrastructure structural and civil specification requirements are essential.
Minimum of 3-5 years of either electrical or site power solution design and site uptime experience, preferably within a mobile network operator or service provider solutions background.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
Deep understanding of existing, new and emerging telecommunications energy generation, distribution, storage and management technologies.
Strong management experience across multiple delivery areas and vendors, including strong programme management across a complex delivery area.
Problem-solving skills, able to navigate through difficult negotiations, including business and financial acumen.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to distil complex technical concepts into simple terms, with strong persuasion skills to gain support for principles, standards, and change
Excellent relationship building, teamwork, and collaboration skills that enables the provision of effective support and guidance across programmes
Proven track record on key outputs/disciplines
