HEAD OF MUSIC Blouberg International School is an independent co-educational school following the International Cambridge Curriculum. It has students from Nursery to Year 13. The school seeks to appoint
open-minded and committed teachers from 1 August 2024.
The successful candidate for the above position will be expected to: Have experience teaching subject music and a wide range of musical stylesHave the ability to offer Brass or Woodwind up to Grade 8 Level and PianoHave the ability to orchestrate music for bands from beginner to advance levelCan teach class music from as little as 5yrs oldCan take orchestra/bandInvolvement in all cultural events throughout the year (e.g. Music, Drama, Art and culture committee events)Can accompany students on PianoBe able to prepare students for Trinity and ABRSM external examsBe able to participate in various music department activities across the school in a collaborative mannerHave the ability to work with the vision of the school to grow musicHaving an understanding and working knowledge of the CAMBRIDGE CURRICULUM and teaching IGCSE would be an advantageBe a dynamic and motivated educator who has a strong personal philosophy of education.
Enhance the students' competence/performance/achievement in, and enthusiasm for learning.
Maintain high standards of classroom practice and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Be available and willing to support functions/activities when required.
Have competent interpersonal and communication skills.
Have high level of computer skills.
Be committed to the ethos and values of the school.

An appropriate academic and professional qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
Current or pending SACE registration.
