CEO (Retail)

Our client is an investment group in Johannesburg who over the years has taken the decision to build diverse business units, one of those being a retail business which owns multiple brands across various locations.

Their retail division is rapidly expanding and as such they are looking to appoint a highly driven and motivated person to fill the role of divisional CEO.

The incumbent must have the willingness to grow with the Company, as they plan to more than double the existing business within the next five years.

• Provide strong leadership and strategic guidance to their diverse portfolio of retail brands with stores in South Africa and Africa.
• Manage budgets, financial planning and revenue targets monitor and analyse financial performance & cash flows, identify opportunities for cost savings and ensure profitability
• Provide regular reports and updates to the board of directors, shareholders and other stakeholders
• Responsible for managing all aspects of the business, including financial performance, operational efficiency, brand development and customer experience
• Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy for each retail brand
• Oversee daytoday operations to ensure efficiency, consistency and compliance with industry standards
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and customer preferences
• Ensure all brands adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards, licensing and permits

• Relevant Degree (Postgraduate/professional qualification would be highly advantageous)
• 10+ years' experience with a good understanding of the retail sector
• Previous senior leadership positions within wellknown retail brands (regional oversight advantageous)
• Africa exposure would be an advantage
• An excellent command of English, both written and verbal, is a requirement of the job
