Quality Assurance Manager

Are you a highly motivated individual with experience in the food manufacturing sector? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you Hire Resolve is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join their client's dynamic team in KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities:

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for:

Quality & Food Safety:

• Monitor and address quality concerns from raw materials to finished products.
• Collaborate across teams for quality improvement and defect resolution.
• Enhance food safety traceability systems and regulatory compliance.
• Implement and oversee GMP and PRP checks and audits.

Audits:

• Conduct regular audits for process improvement and adherence to protocols.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and regulatory agencies for audits.
• Develop audit readiness programs and stay updated on industry trends.

Customer/Stakeholder Relations:

• Investigate quality incidents and customer complaints, taking corrective actions.
• Liaise with technology for product development approval.
• Implement satisfaction surveys and communicate transparently with stakeholders.

Supplier Quality Assurance:

• Ensure raw materials meet specifications and compliance.
• Conduct supplier audits to maintain standards.
• Total Management Quality Systems:
• Develop and maintain SOPs for quality and food safety.
• Keep accurate records accessible for audits and training
• Training and Development:
• Establish policies and procedures for compliance.
• Coordinate talent management and compliance training.
• Drive a culture of quality through training and awareness.

Budget:

• Develop and maintain departmental budget adherence.

People Management:

• Supervise the quality assurance department and provide guidance.
• Manage contracted cleaning company relations.
• Train staff on processes and procedures, manage quality activities

Requirements

• Bachelors/B.Tech in Food science, Microbiology, chemistry, or a related field.
• 5 – 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety management in the food manufacturing/FMCG sector, meat industry preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, including, but not limited to, HACCP etc.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000.
• Experience with food safety audits and certifications (E.G GMP).
• Certification in food safety.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft suite
