JOB PURPOSE 

To assist with the preparation and baking of pizza items in the ship’s pizzeria, according to the requirements of the Executive Chef, always implementing all food safety and sanitation standards. Your role will involve crafting delicious pizzas tailored to customers' preferences. Responsibilities include preparing dough, slicing ingredients, and keeping the pizza ovens clean. Maintaining a tidy workspace and adhering to kitchen safety guidelines are essential. A successful candidate will also have the opportunity to train and support kitchen staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES
  • Making of Neapolitan-style Pizza
  • Cleaning workstations before and after pizza preparation
  • Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use
  • Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times
  • Check temperatures and condition of all material in the section, in assigned refrigerators, on hot tops, or any material permitted to be left at room temperature
  • Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings
  • Plating or packaging pizzas accordingly
  • Prepare pizza products as specified by the Executive Chef and using methods that assure food safety and high quality
  • Monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed
  • Assist in the production of a range of alternative bakery products for guests with specific dietary requirements (fat free, salt-free, sugar-free etc.)
  • Participate in other related duties that may be assigned within the scope of competence
  • Understand and comply with Food Safety standards relating to food temperatures, sanitation, storage, labelling, cross contamination prevention measures etc.
  • Prepare, understand, and use HACCP Flow Charts prescribed by the Food Safety Management Team
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Fluent in oral and written English, knowledge of any other major language is considered a major advantage
  • High School or college graduate 
  • Minimum of two - five years experience in a similar role on cruise vessel or hotel establishment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operation of a high volume kitchen establishment 
  • Clear understanding and use of company sanitation requirements
