Your role will involve preparing delectable chocolate items while following our company's recipes and food safety guidelines. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside talented professionals and hone your skills in the art of chocolate making. To assist the Maitre Chocolatier and team to prepare chocolates and other chocolate related items.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Responsible for preparing the recipes in accordance with the chocolate shop specifications
- Prepare chocolate products as specified by the Maitre Chocolatier ensuring food safety and high quality
- Check cleanliness of Chocolate shop before each shift starts
- Production of a range of chocolate decorations
- Check temperature and condition of materials and refrigerators
- Collect daily from the F&B Store all supplies required for immediate operations
- Correct handling of allergens for guest with specific dietary requirements
- Performs overall quality control of all chocolate shop items
- Follows all food safety protocols in the pastry department in compliance with MSC Food safety standards
- Ensures that food is properly stored, sets up the workstations and keeps it clean at all times
- Prepare the daily mise en place and food production
- Minimize food spoilage
- Comply with international HACCP
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum requirements-High school graduate
- Preferred – Completed Technical education in Hospitality or Culinary School specializing in chocolate
- Certified in Food Safety/HACCP
- Demonstrated understanding and practical knowledge of Food Safety
- Proven ability to work in a harmonious productive team environment
- 1 Years work experience in a hotel establishment or cruise line in a similar position
- Valid South African Passport
- Police Clearance
