Senior Transfer Secretary

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Conveyancing Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conveyancing, particularly specializing in Development Transfers. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, able to work independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric qualification
- Legal secretary/paralegal/conveyancing qualification advantageous
- Minimum 3-5 years of conveyancing experience specializing in Development Transfers
- Proficiency in LexisConvey and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and very meticulous
Responsibilities:
Development Transfer Transactions:
- Handle all aspects of development transfer transactions from initiation to finalization.
- Prepare and draft transfer documents, including deeds, contracts, and agreements.
- Liaise with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders throughout the transfer process to ensure smooth and efficient transactions.
- Conduct title searches, due diligence, and property investigations as required.
Document Preparation and Management:
- Prepare and review legal documents, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for all conveyancing documents and records.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements throughout the conveyancing process.
Client Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on the progress of their transactions and addressing any queries or concerns they may have.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, attorneys, and other parties involved in conveyancing transactions.
Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and conveyancers, including calendar management, scheduling appointments, and arranging meetings.
- Assist with billing, invoicing, and accounts reconciliation as needed.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of conveyancing procedures, particularly in Development Transfers.
- Proficiency in LexisConvey and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
