The IIE's Varsity College, Online Campus has Part Time vacancies for lecturers in the School of Education for the following:  

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching.   

Competencies Required:  

  • Communication Skills  
  • Organisational Skills  
  • Effective Classroom Management  
  • Open to Development  
  • Blackboard Collaborate and MS Teams Proficient.   

Minimum Qualification Requirements:  

  • A minimum of a 4-year BEd degree plus, an Honours (BEd Hons) OR Humanities/Arts/Social Science Honours OR Postgraduate Diploma in Education (at NQF level 8).  
  • The Undergraduate Qualification OR the Honours OR The Postgraduate Teaching Diploma (NQF 8), must include a module on Teaching and Learning/Pedagogy.  
  • The Undergraduate Qualification or Postgraduate Qualification must include component subjects to at least NQF level 6 (usually the 2nd year of study) –  isiZulu, IsiXhosa as a major.  

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:  

  • School Teaching Experience in component subjects (Required).  
  • Tertiary Lecturing Experience (Ideal).  
  • Training & Development: 3 years (Required).  
  • Teaching: 3 years (Required).

  • Please note that positions are part-time, with lecturers taking place between 18:00 and 20:00 on weekdays.
