You can look forward to

Receive relevant on-the-job and formal training to become a proficient technical accountant in various processes critical to the business

Account processing:  Processing of accounts on the Electronic Data Interchange(EDI) and re7 (a SAP based company system); Accuracy and correctness of accounts processed; Preparing invoices in line with accounts received; Review and update the Accounts Register timeously;Timeous receipt and acknowledgment of accounts.

Month end and quarter end processes:  Preparing monthly cedant reconciliations (accounts receivable and accounts payable); Following up on outstanding items and checking the reasonability pipeline premiums as generated by the Corporate Actuarial team.

Outstanding Claims management:  Maintaining accurate records which includes checking for any duplicate claims and reversing/clearing these and following up on outstanding claims together with the relevant members of the Claims team.

Service Level Agreements (SLA): Understanding and complying with Technical Guidelines and meeting SLAs for internal and external clients.

Communication:  Clear, effective and regular communication (verbal and written) with various stakeholders including team members, manager, other internal and external stakeholders.

Systems proficiency:  Understand and become proficient in relevant systems including Electronic Data Interface (EDI), Re7 (SAP based company system) and Microsoft Access.

Data Quality Management: Capture all information accurately and in a timely manner, review data regularly to ensure elimination of errors which ensures quality output.

Ad hoc:  Assist with relevant projects that may be required from time to time.

You come equipped with

Education:

An undergraduate degree or formal qualification in Accounting, Management Accounting or similar.

Essential:

0 - 2 years' working experience MS Office - Excel and Word (intermediate); Outlook (beginner) excellent technical ablity and analytical skills

Advantageous:

Experience working in Life insurance/reinsurance, more specifically in Technical Accounting field. Experience working on a life insurance or accounting system.
