Brief Description

Main Purpose:

The incumbent will assist the Head of EGO and the Deputy Head of EGO to manage all functional responsibilities associated with the day-to-day planning, execution, reviewing, and refining of examinations and graduations processes at the University.

Key Responsibilities:

·Assist the Head, Deputy Head, and the Senior EGO Officer with the coordination of all examination-related activities which include the collation of all information related to examinations and tests, and the printing of examination papers.

·Assist the Head, Deputy Head, and the Senior EGO Officer with the coordination of all Graduation-related activities which include communication with graduates, printing, and reprinting of certificates.

·Responsible for the full function of reception duties; Assist with all Extra-Time / Early Starter application processes, as well as with all general office inquiries (telephonically/via e-mail and counter) from students/ staff/public, related to examinations and graduations.

Requirements:

·NQF level 6 – Advance Certificate/National Diploma. A degree would be an advantage.

·At least three (3) years of administrative experience in a University environment.

·Strong computer literacy skills e.g., proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·Knowledge of the Student Systems/SIMS.

·Ability to communicate with diplomacy and professionalism at all levels.

·Must be prepared to work beyond standard working hours, if and when required.

·High levels of competence and organisational skills.

·High levels of honesty and integrity are essential.

·Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

Preferences:

· An understanding of the University rules/ Senate Standing Orders and Policies governing University Administration, specifically in relation to graduation and examinations.

·Attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·Good Computer Literacy, with an excellent customer focus and teamwork skill.
