Overview

As a Kemin Account Manager you will form the vital link between our company and our customers in the ruminant industry in central South Africa (Free State, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape and North-West). Your task is to add and create value for our customers through your innovative and service orientated approach to their business. In addition, you will expand and grow our ruminant customer base and industry network in order to put Kemin’s offering front of mind in the animal nutrition and health industry.

The position is key to managing and growing Kemin’s commercial interests in central South Africa and it forms part of a larger sales and technical team. The focus is on driving Kemin’s innovative portfolio of products and services to mainly dairy and feedlot customers at premix, feed mill and producer level.

In this role you will manage existing and new business development mainly in the dairy and feedlot industries, with the execution of sales and marketing plans which include strategic planning, customer relationship excellence and problem resolution. You will also assist in developing our technical expertise in coordination with our Technical Service Specialists.

Responsibilities

Strengthen the Kemin product portfolio, with a particular focus on the dairy and feedlot markets. Manage, develop, and grow our sales and service programs with our existing and new customers. Develop and grow a ruminant sales project portfolio to achieve our business targets. Meet sales and margin targets as set and agreed with the company. Assist in formulating and implementing sales and marketing plans relevant to our strategic interests and assume responsibility for successfully achieving sales targets. Develop and support the administration of market information and customer databases. Plan and prepare sales budgets in line with the company’s growth targets. Work with and support the larger regional sales team to develop our product and service offering to the feed industry. Maintain high frequency contact with our clients on multi contact level (Premix, Feed mill, Farmers, Consultants and key influencers). Build and maintain a strong network with our customers in order to promote Kemin as a trusted and dependable feed solutions partner. Build and develop networks through distributor channels and assist distributors where necessary. Lead our service support and technical team in meeting customer needs and addressing concerns. Prepare and present customer presentations. Plan and arrange industry days. Participate and represent the company at industry meetings and events.

Qualifications

Agriculture degree in Animal Science ( Agric will be an advantage). A minimum of 5 year’s industry related experience (Animal feeds, premix, feed additives or related industry). Experience in technical sales support, sales or marketing.

Language Skills:

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English and Afrikaans. Superior presentation and communication skills.

Physical Demands:

Willing to travel within South Africa and internationally. 50% travel required.

Personal Characteristics:

Able to engage with wide range of different people. Positive and reliable, pro-active, innovative, self-motivated, and results-driven attitude. Able to function within a dynamic sales and technical ruminant team

Certificates & Licenses:

Valid motor vehicle driver’s license

Work Environment:

KSSA Head Office located at our South African offices in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng. Travel locally and abroad, including other African countries, is expected. Placement of position is in the Gauteng area and will cover parts of the Free State, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and North-West province. The position is full time and not office bound.
