Our architecture has been built with intention. Now we are looking for a Data Lead who believes that data is a business philosophy, not just a business tool, to help us further improve our use of data inside the organisation.

 

We want a culture of data-supported decision-making for everything from product (where are the best locations for our next set of pick-up-points) to operations (defining effectiveness and efficiency measures across the business. For example cost optimisation) to strategy and growth (revenue management.)

 

Leading a team of four people and working closely with the COO and the rest of the executive team. This role will help to create a culture of data, where accessible, accurate and relevant information is available to everyone in the business so that daily decision-making is faster and better.

Analytics – Answering key strategic questions for the business, all linked to our strategy and plan for 2024/5

Requirements


Competences – attributes, knowledge and skills required:

  • Working with and developing a data strategy

  • Ability to translate business objectives into meaningful reports and dashboards

  • Oversee, innovate and maintain data architecture and infrastructure ensuring scalability, reliability, and precision in data handling. 

  • Experience with data warehouse infrastructure e.g. Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, etc

  • Experience working with ETL tools such as Fivetran, Stitchdata, Zoho Dataprep, etc

  • Experience with data modeling and transformation (we use DBT)

  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation in conjunction with BI tools such as Looker, Zoho Analytics, Tableau, etc

  • Stakeholder management skills such as the ability to translate the technical world of data into everyday language for the average person to understand why it is important and how it moves the dial

  • Leadership skills – mentoring, coaching and guiding the professional development of the team

  • Business context – understanding data impact in the real world of business

  • Relationship building – the ability to create relationships with key people outside of the direct data domain

  • Strategic thinking – the key here is the ability to challenge strategically and directly

  • A love of detail

  • Pattern recognition and problem solving

  • Systems and tooling – GTM systems, Campaign software, CRM, Desk and ticketing and inventory module
