The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Procurement Lead to join our team in Cape Town. 

Work within the Procurement Team responsible for contracting hotels, local services and experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for commercial contracts making sure TourAxis has the most competitive rates and conditions for each of its brands in the designated geographical area. Existing relationships with (hotel) suppliers need to be maintained and new partners will need to be sourced. Professional and swift support and advice need to be provided to peers. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

·       Negotiate and contract a portfolio of hotels with exclusive rates, conditions, and inventory 

·       Be the expert of your assigned region by having in-depth knowledge and understanding of your regional market and destination

·       Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and various partners

·       Excellent knowledge of the hubs such as the hotel groups, the attractions, etc

·       Develop and ensure good relations with peers and colleagues in the different internal processes

·       Represent TourAxis at Trade Shows and other events as and when required

·       Experience and ability to build products that are commercially successful

·       Understand client needs and wants 

·       You are able to research products, visit suppliers 

·       Ability to build relationships and KPIs

Requirements

·       Experience in hospitality management is strongly preferred

·       2+ years of experience in hotel / supplier contracting or a similar role.

·       Proven track record of negotiating competitive agreements

·       Strong understanding of the hospitality industry

·       Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with hotel managers and other industry professionals

·       Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels of an organisation including hotel management and owners

·       Strong commercial skills

·       Able to work to deadlines independently in a fast-paced and ‘scaling-up’ environment 

·       Excellent written and verbal communication of English
