Your day at NTT DATA

The Senior Manager, Data Science is a senior people management role accountable for operationally managing other seasoned or senior Data Scientists / Data Analysts. In addition to managing a team, this role applies and inspires the adoption of data science and analytics within NTT. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage data-driven solutions that add business value using statistical models, machine learning algorithms, data mining, and visualization techniques are created and delivered.

What you'll be doing

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Manage a team of Data Scientists / Data Analysts to ensure achievement of team objectives/KPIsIdentify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutionsProvide guidance in the research, design, implementation and deployment of scalable data analytics vision and machine learning solutions to challenge complex business issuesManage company’s data with third party sources of information when neededProvide guidance in the enhancement of data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systemsProvide guidance to process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis, and building algorithms necessary to find meaningful answersPerform analysis using programming languages or statistical packages such as Python and R etc.Guides on the mining and analysis of data to drive optimization and improvement of business strategyProvide guidance to develop scalable and highly available applications leveraging the latest tools and technologiesCreatively visualizes and effectively communicates results of data analysis, insights, and ideas in a variety of formats to key decision-makers within the businessSet operational objectives for successful launch by leading and mentoring diverse, geo-distributed teams through innovation, bootstrapping, pilot, production, scaling, and maintenance phases with multiple stakeholders to the highest levels of quality and performanceManage the development of SQL Queries for reports and dashboardsAnalyse relational and transactional databases to provide data analysis, and present results in a clear mannerProvide guidance on the creation of documentation around processes and procedures and manage code reviewsApplies industry standards best practices to development activitiesProvide guidance to working on data set to ensure solutions are successfully executed, within agreed upon time framesContinuously coach and mentor team to understand and apply data to solve business solutionsContinuously ensure team remains abreast of latest technology and tools in the area of data science

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree or related in a relevant field such Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science etc.Relevant programming certification(s)Agile certification preferable


Required Experience:

Extended demonstrable experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python) and database languages (e.g. SQL)Extended demonstrable experience with data warehouse and data lake technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT, and reporting/analytic toolsExtended demonstrable experience in data modellingExtended demonstrable experience idesigning tabular models in Analysis ServicesExtended demonstrated experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL pools, data lakes.Extended demonstrated experience in advanced Power BI, including complex DAX expressionsExtended demonstrable experience of data migration skills with Azure Data Factory and Integration ServicesExtended demonstrable experience in Elastic search, Scoring, and recommendation on very large volumes of dataExtended demonstrated experience with Agile Development Methodologies and Test-Driven DevelopmentSolid line manager experience leading and managing a team of Data Scientists / Data Analysts
