Procurement Manager

The main responsibility of the Purchasing Manager is to transforms company vision, strategy and plans in to a purchasing strategy while providing all Scania departments with effective purchasing support and tools to maximize overall cost effectiveness and increased profits. This is achieved by working in close cooperation with Business Unit Management and departments with well-defined processes and procedures and through clear communication.
Job ResponsibilitiesSet Purchasing Strategy: Responsible for purchasing strategy and procedures in the Business Plan.
- Create, develop and implement a Business Unit purchasing strategy
- Ensure clear Procurement Area strategies are implemented and maintained by Procurement Area Leaders
- Adjust and implement purchasing policies in line with Scania Corporate guidelines
- Ensure clear communication of set strategy and procedure, validate compliance and offer support when necessary
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Ensure routines to monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Forecast price and market trends to identify risks and opportunities
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Identifying opportunities for direct and indirect cost saving
- Supporting savings with reduction of process costs
- Ensure routines are in place to identify, contact and partner with with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Maintain and develop relationship with strategic suppliers
Lead Purchasing Operations: Develop, manage and follow up the purchasing and sourcing operations in the Business Unit.
- Oversee and coordinate overall and day-to-day purchasing and sourcing operations
- Promote and encourage a result and customer oriented mind-set in the teams
- Follow up operational results and overall performance
- Identify deviations and generate appropriate action plans
- Ensure implementation and development of structured processes and procedures for the purchasing organisation and Scania operations in general
- Warrant a cooperative way of working across the applicable departments with other parts of the Business Unit organisation and Scania globally, ensuring an open and effective cross functional communication.
- Lead departmental meetings
- Visit dealers and workshops regularly for development and follow up
- Visit and interact with customers and suppliers
- Business Perspective: Using an understanding of business issues, processes and outcomes to enhance business performance.
- Communication skills:Strong communication skills in order to ensure constructive relationships and transparency with suppliers and all internal stakeholders.
- Contract Management: Ability to negotiate and create contracts for signing by understanding the risks and legal impact.
- Managing People: Managing others to ensure their work contributes to organizational goals. Developing individuals, building teams, resolving conflicts and applying workplace policies.
- Negotiation: Ability to explore positions and alternatives to reach best possible outcome by seeking mutual benefits and maintaining relationship in business discussions with the counterparts
- Products and services: Maintains an up to date understanding of products and services necessary to perform duties and tasks. Understands Scania products and services value proposition connected to processes and business.
- SHE: Demonstrates understanding for importance of safety and health policies, procedures and regulations. Creates and safeguards a healthy, safe and sustainable work environment for all employees.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management:Knows how to identify important external and internal stakeholders. Is able to create and maintain positive relationships with them in order to manage expectations and different interests, understand their impact on the business as well as to prepare and accomplish agreements.

- Experience from a position with a large number of direct reports with a P&L responsibility
- Experience of Sourcing and Purchasing or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience of cooperation with internal and external stakeholders and demand management
- Fluent in English
