POSITION OVERVIEW

, ready to work extended hours, weekends, and after hours when necessary to ensure seamless operations.

The ideal candidate will think ahead, plan effectively, and communicate clearly to guarantee smooth execution of all export and logistics activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate and manage daily export and import logistics operations to and from South Africa.
  • Liaise with transporters, clearing agents, and clients to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.
  • Handle transport bookings, monitor progress, and provide proactive updates, without waiting for instruction.
  • Take initiative to keep management informed of progress, challenges, and potential risks.

Planning & Process Control

  • Always ensure there is a Plan B or Plan C in place to avoid disruption and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Plan and work through processes in advance, updating and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regularly.
  • Anticipate challenges before they occur, preventing last-minute decision-making.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness at all times.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with clients, suppliers, and transporters across all channels.
  • Apply firm but professional pressure where needed to ensure performance from service providers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners using initiative, collaboration, and negotiation skills.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare and maintain professional correspondence, including emails, reports, and operational updates.
  • Compile and manage spreadsheets, formulas, and performance reports to track efficiency and progress.
  • Provide accurate, complete, and timely information when requested by management, preventing the need for follow-ups.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all communication, record-keeping, and documentation.

Professional Conduct

  • Present yourself neatly and professionally in all circumstances, whether in the office or external meetings.
  • Demonstrate composure and sound decision-making under pressure.
  • Take full ownership, accountability, and pride in every task and decision made.
  • Participate actively in group communications and client chats, ensuring quick and effective responses to maintain seamless operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 
    3 years' experience
     in logistics, exports/imports, or clearing & forwarding.
  • A 
    Diploma or Degree
     in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or International Trade is advantageous.
  • Strong computer literacy
    , with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data management, reporting).
  • Excellent written and verbal 
    communication and negotiation skills
    .
  • Bilingual proficiency
     in Afrikaans and English (read, write, and speak fluently).
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational ability, and capacity to work independently under pressure.
  • Professional, reliable, disciplined, and results-driven, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines consistently.
