Ensure accurate and efficient control of all workshop and store materials by receiving, issuing, and recording parts correctly. Maintain organized storage areas, safeguard stock integrity, and support operational uptime through proactive inventory monitoring, system updates, and protection of critical spares.
ResponsibilitiesOperational Responsibilities
- Stock Receipt & Verification: Receive and inspect all incoming stock, ensuring quality, quantity, and documentation match purchase orders.
- Stock Identification & Storage: Accurately label, bin, and store items in designated locations to maintain organized inventory.
- Issuing Materials: Dispense parts and materials strictly against authorized job cards or work orders.
- Access Control: Enforce and monitor access control measures at all times, reporting any irregularities immediately.
Inventory Management
- System Updates: Record all transactions promptly in Qwix and update the Excel stock sheet for shortages or discrepancies.
- Stock Monitoring: Report low stock levels or variances without delay to prevent operational disruptions.
- Shift Flexibility: Work shifts as required to support continuous operations.
Audit & Compliance
- Stock Audits: Conduct cycle counts and full stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Obsolete Stock Management: Collaborate with the Stores Manager to identify and manage obsolete or slow moving items.
- Critical Spares Control: Verify that essential spares are safeguarded, correctly stored, and readily accessible.
Health and Safety
- Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
- Distribute safety information as and when required
- Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12
- Relevant working experience recommended
- Prior exposure to stock handling or basic inventory tasks is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Basic computer literacy

- Ability to follow procedures and instructions accurately
- Attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and multitask
