Job Description

A South African investment firm focused on offering tax-efficient investment opportunities is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team in Cape Town.

As the Financial Accountant, you will manage financial records, prepare reports, and ensure accuracy in all financial transactions. You will also handle budgeting, tax compliance, and provide insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in Xero, including processing invoices, payments, journals, and weekly cashbook reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly debtor and creditor reconciliations and raise outstanding items with management.
  • Reconcile loan accounts and ensure supporting documentation is maintained.
  • Prepare and update fixed asset registers in Excel and Xero.
  • Prepare payment schedules, capture payments on online banking, and submit for authorisation.
  • Prepare and submit VAT and payroll returns, and handle SARS queries.
  • Maintain monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting tasks, improve efficiency, and prepare schedules for auditors or reviewers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified PA(SA)
    with 3+ years of total experience
  • Experience working on Xero
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and the fixed asset register

Salary

  • R R35 000 CTC / month
