The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and fast-growing national retail group within the pet industry, is seeking a detail-driven Financial Accountant — someone who brings technical strength, consistency, and a passion for clean, reliable financial information.
 
In this role, you'll take ownership of key accounting functions that support a complex and fast-moving retail environment. From payroll to financial reporting, your expertise will ensure that processes remain accurate, compliant, and optimised for efficiency. This is your chance to support a dynamic finance team where operational excellence matters just as much as strategic insight.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute end-to-end financial processing, ensuring all transactions are accurate and complete.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reporting that supports sound operational and strategic decisions.
  • Oversee payroll with precision, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive process discipline and maintain high standards of financial integrity.
What You Bring
  • Completed BCom degree (Accounting / Finance).
  • 2–3 years experience in a similar Financial Accountant role.
  • Strong background in:
    – Payroll
    – Financial Reporting
    – Financial Processing
    – Financial Analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills (non-negotiable)
  • Ability to manage deadlines, multi-task, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Systems Requirements
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
