Position Overview:
As the COO, you will be the driving force behind our operations in the West Rand of Johannesburg. Your mission is to lead, strategize, and innovate our efforts to provide top-tier transportation and logistics services, with a specific emphasis on trailer manufacturing and truck sales. In this pivotal role, you'll shape our organization's future and guarantee our ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Lead, inspire, and manage our operational teams to ensure the seamless and efficient functioning of our daily operations.
  • Strategic Direction: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute operational strategies in line with the company's growth and financial objectives.
  • Resource Allocation: Oversee the effective allocation of resources, including personnel, vehicles, and equipment, to meet operational goals and maintain cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that our trailer manufacturing and truck sales operations meet the highest standards of quality and customer expectations. Implement quality control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage operational budgets, closely monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures.
  • Logistics and Distribution: Lead our logistics and distribution teams to optimize transportation routes, warehouse operations, and inventory management, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of commodities.
  • Compliance and Safety: Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental sustainability. Implement safety measures to protect our workforce, assets, and the environment.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance, identify trends, and make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Customer Focus: Uphold and enhance the highest levels of customer service standards, promptly addressing any operational issues that may impact customer satisfaction.

Min requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in the transportation and logistics industry, with a focus on trailer manufacturing and truck sales.
  • Strong background in operations management and process optimization.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • a min of 10 years experience as a COO in a similar industry is essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Logistics or a related field is required. A CA(SA) or master's degree in a related discipline is advantageous.
