Our client, a leader in the medical industry providing a full spectrum of modern medical imaging and diagnostic radiological services, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Sonographer to join their dynamic team. Your focus will be producing images, which illustrate the organs and tissues within the body. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 – 7 years' experience within this industry.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Utilising imaging equipment and soundwaves to generate images (ultrasounds) of different body regions

Deliver imaging of diagnostic quality

Experience in ultra sonography (obstetric not required), including breast ultrasound

Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations

Ensuring accurate imaging and excellent patient care

Will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide diagnostic insights that support effective patient treatment

Supervise ultrasound students when applicable

Report to Head of Department

Qualifications

Grade 12

National Diploma / B.Sc (Diagnostic Ultrasound / Radiology)

Minimum 4 – 7 years of relevant experience as an Ultra Sonographer

Confirmation of Registration with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) Relevant Qualification Certificate

Professional Indemnity - Certificate of Medical Membership (South African Medical Association (SAMA)

Previous experience in a similar position in the medical industry would be a distinct advantage

Willing to work after hours and weekends to accommodate shift staff

Compliance with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes as required by HPCSA

Must have experience with MSK

Skills:

Be patient focused

Good interpersonal skills with patients, colleagues, referring physicians and radiologists

Strong technical skills in a variety of ultrasound modalities.

Excellent patient care and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to professional development and continuous learning

Excellent written & verbal communication skills (Afrikaans & English)

Client oriented with the ability to build relationships with customers. Create credibility to ensure customer confidence

Attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
