Technical Designer / 2D/3D Modeller – BIM Coordinator

About the Role:

As a
Technical Designer
, you will be part of a specialized Civil & Structural team responsible for developing high-quality technical drawings and 3D models. Your work will support the full project lifecycle from conceptual design to execution collaborating closely with structural engineers to deliver precise and innovative civil engineering solutions. Projects typically involve concrete and steel structures within an industrial context.

In addition to your design responsibilities, you will also act as a
BIM Coordinator
, playing a key role in the virtual realization of complex buildings and infrastructure. You'll work across disciplines (Civil/Architectural, Piping/Mechanical, E&I, and Mechanical Engineering) to align and manage BIM information, ensuring quality and coordination before and during construction. You will also help compile the as-built documentation once construction is complete.

Technical Designer:

  • Develop technical drawings and models for concrete and steel structures
  • Work according to design standards and guidelines
  • Collaborate with engineers and project leaders across different design phases
  • Translate conceptual designs into detailed construction-ready documentation

BIM Coordinator:

  • Coordinate 3D models in multidisciplinary project teams
  • Manage and verify BIM data using industry-standard platforms
  • Facilitate information alignment across all design disciplines
  • Contribute to as-built documentation post-construction

What we are looking for:

  • Completed MBO or HBO degree in
    Civil Engineering
    or similar
  • 3-6 years of work experience
  • Experience in industrial building design is a plus
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or
    Revit
    , with a focus on
    concrete and steel
    detailing
  • Familiarity with
    BIM tools
    such as BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Navisworks, Dalux, and point cloud technology
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • A proactive and quality-focused mindset
  • Eagerness to learn and grow, both technically and personally
  • Afrikaans language is a plus
