Introduction

We're seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to take full ownership of financial procedures for our operating unit. This is a hands-on role combining strategic financial management with day-to-day accounting operations in a dynamic retail environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Financial Management & Reporting: Prepare accurate accounts, manage budgets and forecasts, and compile monthly cash flow statements
  • Analysis & Planning: Conduct cost analysis, review variance reports, and identify areas of concern requiring management attention
  • Compliance & Control: Complete VAT returns and RSC levies, ensure adherence to all administrative policies and financial procedures
  • Accounting Operations: Capture ledgers and financial documents, process creditor payments, reconcile accounts, and handle cash and banking
  • Stakeholder Support: Resolve customer queries, manage Flash submissions, aid operators, and maintain personnel files
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Essential Qualifications:
    • Grade 12
    • B.Comm Degree (Qualified Accountant - Grade C3) or 3-year Accounting Diploma/Degree
    • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
    • Previous experience within retail operations
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Relevant product/system knowledge
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
