Head of Collections in Cape Town — Join Our New FinTech Venture in South Africa

Aventus Group is launching a new B2B startup in South Africa and expanding its operational team. We are looking for a Head of Collections Department — a results-driven leader who will oversee full-cycle weekly collections, drive performance, and ensure strong portfolio recovery.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Lead full-cycle weekly collections and ensure strong recovery performance

Detect missed payments early, manage weekly cure rates, and adjust strategies

Manage and coach the Collections Team to hit weekly/monthly targets

Oversee daily inbound/outbound operations, scripts, and quality standards

Maintain and improve SOPs for Week 1–4 treatment flows

Handle escalations with SME clients and support cashflow solutions

Manage dialers, CRM, and automation tools; optimise workflows

Produce collection reports and weekly insights; forecast cashflow

Analyse portfolio behaviour and drive improvements

Manage tracing/legal partners and monitor vendor performance

Ensure POPIA compliance, call audits, documentation, and QA controls

What We Expect From You:

2–4+ years of experience in collections (
SME finance / microlending / business lending
preferred)

At least 1-2 years of collections leadership experience

Strong understanding of weekly repayment cycles, not only monthly

Strong analytical mindset; ability to identify insights and performance driver

Initiative, ownership, and leadership qualities

Experience with dialers, CRM systems, or automation tools is an advantage

Work from office in Cape Town
