Role Description

This is a contract role for a Trainee Gas Technician, based on-site in the City of Cape Town. Responsibilities include assisting with gas installations, ensuring compliance with SANS standards, and supporting maintenance and inspection activities. The trainee will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience in both residential and commercial gas installations, troubleshooting, and safety procedures while adhering to company and industry regulations.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical knowledge, technical aptitude, and an interest in gas/plumbing systems
  • Understanding of safety protocols and willingness to learn compliance standards
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration in field operations
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude
  • Driver's license is advantageous
  • Academic or practical training in mechanical engineering, plumbing, or a related trade is a plus
  • Being able to work outside in the elements and on the road for the majority of each day
  • Dealing with customers regarding the signing of delivery notes or processing of payments via Yoco
  • Working as part of a team to ensure that the customer has a happy experience with their dealings with our company
  • Bakkie housekeeping and stock assessment
  • Collecting of gas equipment at suppliers
