About the role

The Alliance Française of Cape Town is seeking an experienced isiXhosa teacher (foreign language) to join our multicultural academic team. You will teach a diverse range of learners in group and private formats, both in-person and online.

Responsibilities

  • Teach isiXhosa as a foreign language to adults, teens, and children
  • Deliver classes in-person, online, or hybrid
  • Follow the institution's curriculum and approved methods
  • Prepare lessons, track progress, assess learners
  • Complete class-related administrative duties
  • Use our digital platform (Arc en Ciel)

Requirements

  • Proven experience teaching isiXhosa as a foreign language
  • Excellent command of isiXhosa
  • Proficiency with digital teaching tools (MS Teams, interactive whiteboards, etc.)
  • Flexibility with different audiences and formats
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team
  • South African citizenship or valid SA work visa

Contract & compensation

  • South African employment contract
  • Hourly rates (daytime & evening classes, Mon–Sat)
