Bookkeeper

Job Purpose:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting functions within the logistics company. This includes managing day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciling accounts, handling supplier and customer transactions, and supporting month-end reporting. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the general ledger, journals, and accounting records
- Trial Balance
- Invoicing
- Debtors
- Creditors
- Cash Book/Reconciliation
- EMP's return's
- Vat returns
- Managing Asset Register
- Managing company asset insurance
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric
- Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance would be advantageous.
- 3–5 years' bookkeeping experience (preferably in the logistics, transport, or fleet management industry).
- Strong experience with Pastel accounting software.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
