Minimum Requirements

Grade 12

Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering (or other engineering qualification) advantageous

Excel Intermediate to advanced is required.

All other Microsoft office applications experience is advantageous

Key user of Warehouse Management Systems preferably JDA Dispatcher (Red Prairie)

Job Related Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Logistics/ supply chain/ warehousing or likely Business.
• At least 1–2 years in a system super-user, key-user, or system support role

Proven experience in system rollouts, UAT, or training

• Unendorsed license & own transport;
• Ability to travel around Gauteng, South Africa & International;
• Excellent written & verbal communications skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills & able to work in a collaborative & team-based environment;
• Aptitude to multi-task & employ effective problem solving abilities;
• Preferred Background
• Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Controller, or System Super User.
• Participation in system rollouts, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), or training programs.
• Knowledge of lean warehousing principles and process automation

Main purpose of the role

The WMS Key User is responsible for ensuring the effective use, support, and continuous improvement of the Warehouse Management System within daily operations. Acting as the link between warehouse operations, IT teams, and management, the Key User ensures smooth system performance, provides end-user support and training, and participates in system upgrades or process improvement initiatives.

Execution of System Driven Warehouse activities to ensure maximum productivity and work load balancing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• System Operations & Support

oServe as the first point of contact for warehouse staff on WMS-related issues.

oMonitor system performance and ensure transactions are processed correctly.

oTroubleshoot errors and escalate unresolved issues to the WMS/IT support team.

oTest new functionalities, upgrades, or patches before deployment. Manage UAT for system updates and changes.

• Process & Data Management

oEnsure accuracy of master data (SKU setup, bin locations, stock attributes).

oMonitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock adjustments, and reconciliation.

oValidate inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse transactions in the system.

oReport system or process anomalies to management.

• Training & Knowledge Sharing

oTrain and guide warehouse staff on WMS processes and best practices.

oUpdate and maintain user manuals and process documentation.

oAct as a subject matter expert during audits and compliance checks.

• Continuous Improvement

oAnalyze daily operations for process bottlenecks or system inefficiencies.

oSuggest improvements in workflows and system usage.

oSupport new project rollouts, WMS implementations, and integrations.

• Travel: Reasonable local and international travel requirement to use knowledge, skills and experience in support of relevant DSV business objectives.
• Warehouse Management Systems: Knowledge of key functions and features of systems used by DSV, in support of solutions development, sales activities and implementations; Knowledge of RedPrairie/ Blue Yonder/ JDA will be beneficial.
• Support: Support current instances of WMS implementations;
• Assessments of current WMS solutions
• Liaison with various global IT teams including EDI. IT Solutions and support, Global BCM application engineering
• Example of Daily Activities:

oLog in and verify WMS system availability and functionality.

oMonitor inbound processes (receipts, put-away confirmations).

oMonitor outbound processes (picking, packing, shipping confirmations).

oCheck system alerts, error logs, and resolve data discrepancies.

oSupport warehouse staff with scanning or transaction errors.

oPerform spot checks on system transactions vs. physical stock.

oRun daily reports (inventory accuracy, order status, system exceptions).

oUpdate supervisors on issues affecting productivity.

oConduct on-floor user support and coaching when staff encounter system-related difficulties.

oDocument issues and escalate recurring/systemic problems.
