About the job

We are seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Senior SAP Utilities Consultant, reporting directly to one of the Utilities Management Senior Managers. This position, based in Pretoria, involves a hybrid working model, catering to clients within and outside South Africa. As part of our diverse team, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional quality work to both internal and external stakeholders, embodying our commitment to client satisfaction.

Responsibilities, Knowledge & Skills Required

• Conduct technical and functional analysis.
• Deliver high-quality implementation, customization, and support for SAP Utilities solutions.
• Compile and update system documentation.
• Analyse business requirements and map them to SAP Utilities functionality.
• Possess SAP IS-Utilities configuration and functional expertise.
• Demonstrate SAP IS-Utilities integration knowledge and expertise in end-to-end testing.
• Exhibit cross-functional integration knowledge with modules such as MM, FI, PM, CRM, etc.
• Showcase strong presentation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Uphold a professional and positive attitude with a high attention to detail.
• Collaborate effectively within teams and demonstrate a people-oriented approach.
• Engage in pre-sales activities and manage team-related tasks.
• Foster high levels of interaction and collaboration with Zimele's various teams and customers.

Role Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years SAP Utilities experience within a specialized sub module. (DM, BI, FI-CA)
• Demonstrate hands-on expertise in at least two key SAP IS-U functional areas, including Customer Services, Device Management, Billing & Invoicing, and FI-CA.
• Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end utilities business processes, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective SAP IS-U solutions.
• Degree or Diploma in IT/Computer Science/Information System.
• Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Project Management experience or certification.
• Testing Management and Issue Management expertise.
• Strong computer literacy competency.
• Willingness to undergo technical assessments.
• Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
• Ability to navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
• Build strong, professional, cross-functional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 7-10 years of SAP Industry Solution for Utilities experience with technical proficiency in S/4 HANA and SAP Activate methodologies.
• Minimum 7 years of consultant experience.
• B degree or higher.
• Involvement in 2 IS-U implementations.
• SAP ISU Certification is advantageous.
• Specialized knowledge in at least 1 area of SAP Utilities.

Key Accountabilities

The Senior SAP Utilities Consultant will play a pivotal role in successful project implementation across the organization. Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring successful delivery to time, budget, and quality.
• Managing positive relationships with external stakeholders, from Team Lead to executives.
• Engaging with internal/external stakeholders and managing third-party relations.
• Serving as an expert in IS-U modules and meter-to-cash processes and configuration.
• Advising on Revenue Management and demonstrating sound industry and local municipality knowledge.
• Leading a team, performing SAP IS-U configuration, and providing mentorship.
• Contributing to building internal assets for the organization and staying informed about future SAP Utilities product offerings.
• Construct solution offerings and positioning for SAP Utilities solutions.
