Job Function

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing of trucks, trailers and ancillary equipment.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Repairing, maintenance and servicing of trucks and trailers.
  • Examine trailers and trucks, identify defects and repair all defects.
  • Conduct quality checks on repaired Trailers and trucks to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Attend to breakdowns as and when necessary; work standby and shifts on a rotation basis.
  • Examine and diagnose defects correctly and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Monthly stock takes.
  • Ordering and capturing of parts on Freeway system.
  • Adhere to company policies & procedures, HSSEQ, housekeeping and customer standards at all times.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure appearance of vehicles and trailers conforms to company standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 1 years' related experience.
  • Willing and able to work long hours and do standby duties as and when required.
  • Problem solving skills and analytical ability.
  • The applicant must have a valid Code B driver's license, but a code EC with PDP will be preferred.
