About the role
Your mission is simple but profound: to make Africa a major profit pillar for Aerobotics by scaling our cutting-edge AgTech solutions, with a primary focus on South Africa. If you are passionate about sales, have a proven track record in fresh fruit (citrus/apple/table grapes) sales, Ag-Tech, or B2B Ag-Sales, and are obsessed with customers, this is your chance to lead the frontier of sustainable, intelligent farming.
You will own the strategy, execution, and financial performance of the SADC region, ensuring we capture the massive opportunity in one of the world's most critical farming regions.
Key Focus Areas:
- Profit & Revenue Ownership: Take full responsibility for generating and accelerating revenue growth and regional profitability across SADC.
- Market Expansion: Drive deep penetration in South Africa with existing and new customers before strategically unlocking new territories.
- Customer Value Champion: Define the optimal business model and customer journey to ensure farmers see immediate, quantifiable value from our technology, leading to high-volume purchases and long-term loyalty.
What You'll Be Building & Delivering
Strategy
- The Blueprint: Design and execute a profitable customer strategy focused on optimizing unit economics (CAC, LTV).
- Financial Discipline: Manage the regional budget with an entrepreneur's mindset, ensuring every sales and marketing dollar yields maximum ROI.
- Market Insight: Become our expert on the African agricultural landscape, tracking competitor activity and identifying game-changing industry opportunities.
Customer Acquisition & Loyalty
- Optimizing the Journey: Deeply understand the farmer's decision-making process to streamline our approach, maximizing sales and repurchases while minimizing cost.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Actively collaborate with our global Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams to deliver incremental value and maintain high service standards for all customers.
- Build deep, trusted relationships with key customer accounts, transforming them into internal champions and industry advocates for Aerobotics.
- Advocacy & Empathy: Ensure our post-purchase experience is exceptional, bonding with customers and co-developing product features with our Product Team to serve the wider industry.
What you'll bring to the role
- At least 5 years sales experience in the fresh fruit or farming sectors (ideally Citrus) or a strong background in Ag-Tech/Ag-Sales
- P&L Ownership: Proven ability to build and scale a business segment, with a clear focus on revenue generation, cost management, and profitability.
- Scaling Mindset: A passion for rapid growth and a strategic view on how to transition a successful local strategy into a viable continental expansion plan.
- Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of forging lasting partnerships with farmers, distributors, and internal teams.
- Strong motivation to work with Aerobotics
