R600,000 – ideally around R800,000 CTC per annum (dependent on skills and experience)

A leading financial organization seeks a Chartered Accountant (SA) with a technical edge, focusing primarily on IFRS reporting and advanced accounting standards.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in interpreting, implementing, and advising on IFRS and financial reporting requirements, ensuring both compliance and accuracy in all statutory accounts

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate preparation and review of financial statements and reports in full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Provide guidance and support to finance teams on all aspects of technical accounting, including complex transactions, new standards, and disclosure items
  • Interpret and implement updates or new IFRS accounting standards, facilitating effective change management across the business.
  • Consult and advise internal and external stakeholders on technical accounting queries and reporting issues.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, supplying technical accounting opinions and supporting statutory queries.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date technical accounting policies and documentation for alignment with best practice and ongoing regulatory changes.
  • Conduct training sessions or workshops on IFRS updates and technical accounting developments for key staff.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure company-wide compliance and effective integration of financial reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Registered CA (SA) with 2–5 years post articles experience, ideally in technical accounting or IFRS advisory roles.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting within a large organization or accounting firm.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
  • Familiarity with audit support and policy development for IFRS compliance.
