A leading investment company is hiring a Finance Manager (must be a CA).

Overview

The Finance Manager oversees the financial health of the organisation by managing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis, compliance, and financial operations. The role ensures accurate financial information, supports strategic decision-making, and maintains strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Analyse financial performance, variances, and trends.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Develop financial models to support strategy, pricing, or investment assessments.

Financial Reporting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Consolidate financial results across business units (if applicable).
  • Present financial performance to management or the board.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (tax, audits, financial regulations).
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and financial policies.
  • Support external and internal audits.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
  • Oversee banking relationships and funding requirements.
  • Manage payments, receipts, and treasury operations.

Operational Finance

  • Partner with business units to support cost control, profitability, and performance.
  • Review and approve expenditure, purchase orders, and financial transactions.
  • Improve financial processes, systems, and automation.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and mentor the finance team (accountants, analysts, clerks).
  • Delegate tasks, review outputs, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and business strategy discussions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent financial modelling and Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Proficiency in Sage Evolution.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional qualification (CA(SA).
  • 5–10 years of finance experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis.
