Workshop Manager

Our Client in the Freight and Logistics Industry is seeking to employ a Workshop Manager to their team based in Port Elizabeth.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a transport or mechanical workshop.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management or supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of trucks, trailers, and mechanical systems.
- Valid Code EC/EC1 driver's license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Available for after-hours support when required.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Supervise workshop staff and daily operations.
- Manage vehicle servicing, breakdowns, and downtime.
- Ensure quality control and workshop safety compliance.
- Manage stock, tools, and parts procurement and procedures.
- Implement new systems to improve operational efficiency.
- Manage workshop administration, including invoice capturing and stock control.
- Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures.
- Oversee licensing, trailer inspections, and Certificate of Fitness (COF) renewals.
- Monitor maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with transport and operations departments to ensure fleet readiness.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Train and mentor workshop staff to improve performance and productivity.
